Project Summary
The “Order Food on Click” system is an approach to improve the current trend in typical order processing system in Hotels and restaurant. It provides the facility of placing order directly from the device that is mounted on their table. Customer can explore various food categories and food items along with their description and prize. Customer can directly place an order through the system that is mounted on their table. The order placed by customer is directly send to the device that is mounted in the kitchen. So that the staff in the kitchen can directly view the order placed from customer. After receiving the order kitchen staff prepares the order and waiter will serve the order. Thus “Order Food on Click” is an online web application which provides efficient and cost effective solution for the hotel owners.
Purpose: Goals & Objectives
GoalsThe Goal of “Order Food on Click” system is to prepare an online application using which customers can view various food categories and items directly from seating at their table and can place an order from the system. The second Goal of the system is to eliminate man power as much as possible and automated the order processing work through computerized system. The Third goal of the system is to prepare an automatic bill directly through system based on the order placed by customers and customer can pay the bill .
ObjectivesFollowing are the objectives of “Order Food On Click” system:
Management of Food Categories
Management of Food Items with description and prize.
Management of Tables.
Order Placement facility directly through the system mounted on customer table.
Automatic bill generation and payment of bill.
Hardware And Software Requirements
Minimum Hardware Requirements
(1) Processor: Intel Core I3 or above

STUDY OF CURRENT SYSTEM
Current system is totally manual. In current system any customer who comes into the hotel first books the table. After booking of the table Hotel manager provides a menu to the customer. Customer takes a look at menu and decides which items need to be ordered. After a few times Hotel Manager takes order from customer and send the order to the kitchen staff. Upon receiving the order the kitchen staff prepares the order and waiter serves the order. If customer wants to order another item then he has to call the waiter and give order. After completion of order account manager prepares a bill and customer pay the bill. Thus current system requires lots of manpower. It is also very costly because of more man power.
PROBLEM AND WEAKNESSES OF CURRENT SYSTEM
After study of current system we found following problems and weaknesses in the system. Following are the some of the problems and weaknesses of current system:
(1) Current system is manual.
(2) It is time consuming because it takes lots of time in taking order from customer and serving order.
(3) It requires more man power because hotel needs to appoint persons for taking order and collection payment from customers.
(4) No automatic mechanism for ordering food.
REQUIREMENTS OF NEW SYSTEM
In order to overcome the problems and weaknesses of current system we proposed to develop a new system which online. The system provides efficient functionalities to the Hotel administrator. There are three types of users in the system. Functionality of each users are given below:
(1)Administrator:
Manage Tables: Administrator manages tables available in the hotel. Administrator can add new tables and view available tables in the hotel.
Manage Category: Administrator manages categories of food available in the hotel. Administrator can add, edit or delete various categories of Food.
Manage Food Items: Administrator manages food items available under each food category with description and prize. Administrator can add, delete or edit food items.
Manage Offers: Administrator manages various offers that are provided by hotel occasionally.
View Feedback: Administrator view feedback given by customers to improve quality of hotel services.
(2)Customer:
Book Table: Upon entering in to the hotel customer book the table first.
View Categories: Customer can view various food categories on the device that is mounted on the table.
View Food Items: Customer can view various food items with its description and prize from the table through the device that is mounted on the table.
Order Food: Customer order food items by selecting food items.
View Special Offers: Customer can view various offers available at hotels.
Feedback: Customer can give feedback about hotel service and food quality.
Payment: After completion of lunch or dinner customer click on the order complete button and bill is automatically generated in Kitchen and print bill on the table. Customer can then pay bill through the system.
(3)Kitchen Staff:
View Order: Kitchen staff can view orders from various tables placed by customers.
Process Order: Kitchen staff delivers order on respective table and update the order status.
MAIN MODULES OF NEW SYSTEM
Basically there are three types of users who deal with the system. The users are listed below:
(1)Administrator User (Hotel Manager)
(2)Customers
(3)Kitchen Staff

- Customer Book the table.

- Customer can view various food items with its description and prize.
- Customer order food items.
- Customer can view various offers available at hotels.
- Customer can give feedback about hotel service and food quality.
- Customer pay bill.
(3)Kitchen Staff
- Kitchen staff can view orders from various tables placed by customers.
- Kitchen staff delivers order on respective table and update the order status.
